The heart thrust into unknown
activity, pushed to breaking.
The body lit ablaze.

And yet for a moment
you truly know breath,
wondering how your heart
ever drew blood before.

Pounding in lockstep,
flush skin grazing skin,
the whole world collapses
to a single point.

But it ends.
You fall to the pavement
and turn your stomach inside out.
